Miss Betty made iced tea one glass at a time from scratch. The production process was slow and well worth the wait. She meant for her product to be sipped, savored and never chugged! I disappointed her many times as chugging was an involuntary response to her "nectar of the gods". Thanks for the many glasses of your incredible iced tea, more free meals than I can count, and a wonderful dry wit that always kept those around her on their toes. Thanks also for making John Walter and myself the victim of a practical joke that I still laugh about some forty-seven years later. Upon our arrival back to a very dark and isolated 707 PV Blvd at one in the morning after a week night college "adventure" in St. Augustine, we found a Fidel Castro mask looking out of my car's passenger window. Big John and Miss Betty had broken into my car, taped the mask to the window, and we're standing on a bed watching our response out of a bedroom window. They got their money's worth! Rest in peace and God bless you. Roll Tide!
