Betty Joan Sodders' Obituary
Mrs. Betty Joan Sodders, 86, resident of Archer, Florida, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Sodders was born on September 19, 1936, in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Douglas and Ruby Sodders. She came to Florida as a young woman, and received her degree from Santa Fe College and went on to a long career in real estate, last working with Matchmaker Realty. Mrs. Sodders enjoyed writing, and even published her own memoirs. She was the oldest of nine brothers and sisters, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Wayne and Gerald Sodders, as well as her son, William Joseph Keeling.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Niboonkit, of Archer; one son, Timothy (Shirley) Simpson, of Elkins, West Virginia; one sister, Patsy (David) Knight, of Valrico, FL; four brothers, Charles (Donna) Sodders, of Mississippi, Donald Ray (Kathy) Sodders, of Plant City, Darrell (Debbie) Sodders, of Ft. Meade and Ricky (Pam) Sodders, of Plant City. Eight Grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 2:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P
