Betty Lou Brooke's Obituary
Betty Lou Brooke , 93, of Hawthorne, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Betty was born August 25, 1929, in Washington D.C. to Charles Franklin and Elizabeth Louise Rinker Foright. She worked most of her life as administrative staff for the Federal Government. Betty married the love of her life, James Farrell Brooke and together they raised 4 children of whom she was very proud. She loved family gatherings and visits from her dear friends Mary Rehrig and Ethel Newmans.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Brenda Goebel.
She is survived by her children Donna “Lynn” (Ron Speel) Hope, Shirley (Wade) Ring, James (Lori) Brooke Jr., son-in-law Arthur “Jay” (Karen) Goebel, and grandchildren Ciara (Josh) Ring, Ashley (Travis) Goebel, and Evan (Stephanie) Brooke.
Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL in a private family ceremony. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/giving
