Janet, I just learned of your Mother’s passing today. Not only was I your student at Newberry High but I worked with Betty in the Department of Pathology for 8 years before moving away. I hope this note finds you well. Even at this late date, I am sorry for your loss.

I was sorry to hear of you mom's passing. Although we were not close after my mother and father (Ida and Frank Keough) passed away almost 50 years ago, I still have fond memories of the holiday dinners at our home on McCalla Avenue In Knoxville with the Keough Clan. I will always remember Aunt Betty as a pretty lady with a kind heart and beautiful smile. I am sure you will miss her but cherish the memories of the wonderful times you had together. I am so sorry to have read about your mother's passing. I know how close the two of you were. Remember, when she volunteered to read literature stories on tape to my English classes. She won "Volunteer of the Year" for her time. I appreciated her willingness to give back.

Janet, I did not know your mom but I remember you and when you arrived at Newberry HS a long time ago. I was a Jr. or Sr. when you first got there. I hope your mom's passing is not too difficult for you. My dad is 84 and I feel so fortunate to have had him for so long. I know you were a PE teacher for many years and would love to talk to you about it. I have been doing it now for 35 years. Please accept my condolences.
