Betty J. Crockett Winders' Obituary
Betty has had a long full life, shared with family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, shrimping, holidays and celebrations with all.
She loved sewing and crafts. She made jewelry and even learned silversmithing.
She was employed for a short amount of time at Alachua County Health Department and followed her passion at Avelinos Jewelry.
She was a member of many clubs to include “Rose of the Month Club”, Friends of Rodman’s Reserve”, the “Everglades Conservation and Sportsman Club”. She was even a Girl Scout Leader for the local troop in Hawthorne, FL.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Crockett “Bob”, her second husband, Rodney F. Winders “Rod”, both parents, Robert and Susie Graham “Bob and Sue”, a son, Rodney D. Winders “Roddy”, granddaughter, Candace Taylor and most recent her sister, Evealyn Cordell.
She was blessed with many children, son, Robert R. Crockett “Robbie or Bob”; daughter, Teresa Crockett Eaton and husband, Jeremiah Eaton; daughter, Sherri Winders Howland and husband Paul Howland; daughter, Gayle Winders Taylor and husband Clarence Taylor.
Grandchildren, Keith Crockett and wife Natalie Crockett; Dora Crockett Robinson and husband Scott Robinson; E. Nathaniel Bingham and fiancée, Nicole E.; Ronnie Taylor and wife Jackie Taylor; Crystal McCoy and husband Shawn McCoy; Susie Wilson; Kris Howland and wife Lisa Howland. She was also blessed with a multitude of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, 22205 SE 69th Avenue, Hawthorne, FL. Interment will follow in Eliam Cemetery, State Road 21 in Melrose, FL
