Betty Boring Emmanuel's Obituary
Betty Boring Emmanuel, age 93 of Alachua, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 in E.T. York Care Center. Betty was born October 16, 1922 in Gainesville, Florida to Richard Morris and Martha Elizabeth Tison Boring. Betty married Michel George “Mich” Emmanuel and they moved to Tampa, where she was very active in the Red Cross. She was past president of Red Cross of Tampa and helped found Angel Wings Organization. She loved roses and growing them and enjoyed sailing with her husband. They traveled around the world and later moved back to Gainesville where she was active with Haven Hospice. Betty loved people and helping them. She was known for her bubbly personality.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Michel George “Mich” Emmanuel and son, Mike Emmanuel. She is survived by her daughter, Martha A. Emmanuel of Alachua, FL; sister, Jane B. Correll of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Breezy Emmanuel-Clark (Paul) of Tampa, FL and Trey Emmanuel of Gulfport, FL and great grandchildren, Brigg Michel Emmanuel-Clark and Megan Clark.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32601.
