Betty Jane Dutton's Obituary
Betty Jane Dutton, age 87, passed away on October 17, 2022, in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on June 11, 1935, in Pensacola, Florida to Brady R. and Lorraine Powell Lee.
Betty was born and raised in Pensacola, where she met her High School sweetheart, Billie E. Dutton, after Billie served in the Air Force they moved to Gainesville. She worked for the Alachua Co. Welfare office, then worked for Sears where she retired. She enjoyed playing her piano and organ, sewing, and traveling with her sister.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Dorris, and Jennifer (Billy) Toner; sister, Barbara Moyers; grandson, Hunter Dorris, and many nieces and nephews Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Billie E. Dutton; brothers, Dickey Lee, and Bobby Gardner.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Prairie Creek Cemetery 7204 S.E. CR 234 Gainesville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org in her memory.
