Bettie Lou Strickland's Obituary
Bettie Lou Strickland known as “Aunt Bettie,” passed away Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born July 12, 1937, in Lake City, Florida to Leonard Osteen and Ally Viola Dukes Johnson.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved children and was a wonderful caregiver. If anyone was in need, she was always there for them. She will be dearly missed.
Bettie is survived by her children, James Leonard Strickland, John Frank Strickland, Robin Lockey (Colleen) Strickland and George Arthur Strickland; sister, Shirley Thomas; brother, Arthur Buck Johnson; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Strickland and daughters, Evie Viola Holton and Bettie Jean Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 north Main Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Fairbanks Cemetery.
