Bertie H. Ginter's Obituary
Bertie H. Ginter, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020, her 56th wedding anniversary, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was a resident of Newberry, FL, for 42 years, and a member of Archer Baptist Church.
She was born and raised in South Carolina, moving to Florida in 1957.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Robert I Ginter; daughter, Carol L. Moore, and son-in-law, Wayne Moore; son, Ray B.
Hughes, Jr., and his fiancé Chris Eckhart. She is also survived by her
grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Ward (Tammy), Melanie Kozloski (Mark) and Tammy Moore Walker, six great-grandchildren: Lily, Stella, Killian, Christopher,
Halle, and Sara.
She retired from Martin-Marietta in Orlando before moving to Newberry.
Bertie loved the home she and her husband built in the country in 1978, and she spent many hours working in the yard and tending their vegetable garden. She dearly loved children, and seldom passed a baby she did not want to hug. For a time, she taught children's Sunday School at Jonesville Baptist Church.
For years, she and her husband Bob tirelessly picked blueberries by the bag full when the fields opened up near their home. She and Bob both attended the Citizen's on Patrol Academy and enjoyed watching court cases in Gainesville. They delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered as poll workers during elections. She also served as a Guardian ad Litem for a while. ln her younger years, she loved dancing and going fishing.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS WESTAREA 823 N.W. 143rd St. Newberry, Fl. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at 2:00 PM in Jonesville Cemetery, Newberry
