They were the calm I needed when things couldn’t have seemed to get any better.
They were experienced when I wasn’t.
They taught me how to fix a tire.
They taught me how to ride a bike.
They led me where I needed to go.
They taught me how to file my taxes.
They clapped for me when times needed to be celebrated.
They made the special moments more special.
They knew a simple yellow truck could take you anywhere you wanted to go.
They hugged me when I needed it most.
They prayed with me every night when I was a child.
They cheered me on every day.
They loved my Nana.
They knew great loss.
They knew triumphs.
They thought I was beautiful just as I was.
They encouraged me to take care of myself.
They knew dedication and never giving up.
They loved all those with whom they shook hands.
They taught me confidence.
They were there to reassure me when I needed it.
They encouraged me to explore the world.
They were the first things I sought in times of trouble.
They told me to never be afraid.
They hold a lifetime of memories, friendship, and love.
They led and I followed.
They taught me to tie many good knots.
They showed me how to love animals and God’s creations.
They showed me how to appreciate the small things in life.
They knew that family was everything.
They knew how to pray and show me the way.
They knew life’s pleasure of being in nature.
They loved and honored his children.
They knew God’s love for all things.
They knew how to tend to plants and make them thrive.
They took me camping and showed me places.
They knew their best friend and honoring friendship for a lifetime.
They rescued me when I needed saving.
They helped me realize the dream of going to the University of Florida.
They encouraged me to explore my dream of studying abroad.
They made friends wherever they went.

They taught me the importance of country, dedication, duty, honor, and trust.
