I suppose Ben and I were both born a few decades too late; he certainly marched to a different drummer.
I knew Ben all of his life. Throughout his long childhood I came to realize that God put him on earth just to aggravate me.
But, Ben grew up. I was surprised and overjoyed with what he became. Ben could do about anything. In addition he was sensitive, compassionate and honest. He would always do a favor if he could.
Ben never lost that mischevious side, you could see it in his face and in that quirky smile. He might think better of doing something, but he couldn't stand it.
With Ben's accident I have lost a good mechanic, a good barber, and most of all a good friend. I hope Ben knew that.
