Bartholomew Vidi's Obituary
Bartholomew “Bart” Linus Vidi, age 84 of Bell, Florida, passed away on Friday, May 24th, 2019 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, Florida. Bart was born June 9th, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Lino and Frida Vidi. He was married to the late Mildred “Anne” Vidi, who preceded him in death on February 28th, 1996. Bart was a Certified Manufacturing Engineer of Micro Parts with Space Machine, Aircraft Porous Media and Energizer for many years. After his retirement from engineering, Bart enjoyed living both on his family farm in Westminster, Maryland and his residence in the Gainesville, Florida area to be near his two sons and their families. Bart was an avid hobbyist who enjoyed woodworking, metalworking and construction. He attended St. Madeleine’s Church while in Florida. Bart was an active brother of the Knight of Columbus in Maryland.
Bart was preceded in death by his sisters, Teresa Vidi and Anna “Vidi” Potter. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Susan Vidi of Gainesville, Florida and Dwayne and Amy Vidi of High Springs, Florida. Bart was a proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren; Heather Vidi, Logan Vidi, Aidan Vidi and Dylan Vidi, all of whom reside in Florida. Bart was also survived by 1 great-grandchild, Kathryn Vidi. Bart is survived by several extended family members that continue to reside in both Maryland and Tennessee.
Services will be held at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St. Gainesville, FL 32669 on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 at 2 P.M. The viewing will take place at the funeral home at 1P.M. The processional to Bell Cemetery to take place after services have been completed. Following the services, Scott and Susan Vidi will host a gathering for friends and family at their family home in Gainesville, FL.
