Barbara Lee Jones' Obituary
Barbara Lee Jones, age 71 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 18, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, to Arthur and Lucille Aaronoff. Ms. Jones was a Registered Nurse for 50 years, having dedicated her life to the care and wellness of others in cities including Miami and Miami Beach, FL; Port Charlotte, FL; Birmingham, AL; and Gainesville, FL, where she ended her glorious nursing career as a staff RN at Tacachale, State of Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities. She loved to read, cross-stitch, and spend time with her beloved dog, Penny, and grandchildren, triplets Rain, Ryanne, Raymond and her first grand, Alexis.
She was preceded in death by her first-born daughter, Sharon Lynn Anderson.
Ms. Jones is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vance Bowie of Gainesville, FL, her brother, Burton (Barbara) Aaronoff, her sister, Joan Tatkow (Joel) of Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren; her four-legged devoted love, Penelope; and a host of relatives and close friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, in Gainesville, FL.
