Barbara Jean Buchan's Obituary
Barbara Jean Buchan, 95, of Gainesville, Florida, died Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Palm Garden Nursing Facility, following a long illness.
Mrs. Buchan was born on March 25, 1928, in Chobham, England to the late Stephen and Ivy Roberts. She came to the United States as a small child, and lived most of her life in Long Island, New York, working for many years as a cook manager at the Locust Valley High School. She attended the Brookville Reform Church, Brookville, New York, and came to Gainesville, Florida in 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. David R. Buchan in 2017.
She is survived by two daughters, Rena Buchan, of Gainesville and Cynthia Buchan and her husband Matt Powers, of Atkinson, New Hampshire.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
