Barbara Adele Grodewald's Obituary
Barbara Adele Grodewald, 84, of Gainesville, Florida passed away surrounded by family on June 9, 2025. Barbara was born on June 6, 1941 in Ogdensburg, New York. She is survived by her children, Karen (Kerry), Paul (Val), and Lisa; grandchildren, Courtney (Patrick), Hailee, Casey, Nicholas (Salina), and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Alliyah Kourtlyn, Bridjette, Riot, Kehlani, Taelyn, Kaylyn, and Elijah. She is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Grace Lalone; her husband Richie; son Michael; granddaughter Alisha Grace; and her brother Larry.
Barbara was a stay-at-home mom during her children’s childhood and then worked at Nationwide Insurance as an insurance adjuster until retirement. She enjoyed watching game shows, playing bingo, and putting together puzzles with thousands of pieces. She was actively involved in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities and lives as their biggest supporter.
Visitation will be held at William-Thomas Funeral Home in Jonesville, Florida on June 14, 2025 at 2:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
