Barbara Jane Gisondi's Obituary
Barbara Jane Gisondi, 86, resident of High Springs, Florida and longtime resident of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, following a long illness.
Mrs. Gisondi was born and raised in Bronx, New York on April 8, 1936. She came to Stuart in 1975 and lived there until just a few years ago, to be closer to her daughter. Mrs. Gisondi had a great love for children, and along with her mother she fostered 52 children over the years. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, and making blankets for all of her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Gisondi was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Mr. Dick Gisondi in 2011.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol A. (Dave Barker) Prew, of Palm City, Faith A. Gisondi, of Stuart and Louanne (Greg) Doyle, of High Springs; by one son, Mark Gisondi, of High Springs; a sister, Dolores DeAngelis, of New York; three brothers, Rick (Debbie) Scimeca and Nick (Rae) Scimeca both of Stuart and Sal (Julie) Scimeca, of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Jamie Langdon, Christopher Prew, Dawn Smith, Tonia Rossano, Tyler Rossano, Daniel Rossano, and Nicholas Doyle; great-grandchildren, Garrett Langdon, Lucas Langdon, Braden Prew, Emma Prew, Austin Prew, Billie Paige Prew, Skylar Watson, Layla Smith, GavinWesterman, Cameron Westerman, Teagan Rossano, Taleah Rossano, Benjamin Doyle, Samuel Doyle.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida.
