Barbara Jeanne Ferguson's Obituary
Barbara Jeanne Ferguson, 93, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on September 21, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1931, in Los Angeles, California to Herbert and Betty Hall Schneider.
She lived in Los Angeles, California and Vancouver, Washington before moving to Parma, Idaho. After graduating from high school, she attended Secretarial School. She married Charles Laverne Ferguson, her high school sweetheart, on July 2, 1951, and worked while Charles attended Oregon State University.
After Charles became an Officer in the U.S.A.F., Barbara joined the Officer's Wives Club at the various Air Force Bases where Charles was stationed. Barbara later became a Legal Secretary. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, sewing, canning, and taking care of her children. Barbara had a life-long dream of being a nurse and went back to school to become a L.P.N. after Charles retired from the military. She first worked in a hospital, and later worked in a doctor's office.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, of 72 years who passed away in December of 2023. She is survived by children; Gary Ferguson, Vicki Peters (Carl), Randy Ferguson (Amanda), grandchildren; Bradley Metzler, Brian Peters, Justin Peters, Mackenzie Ferguson, Chelsea Ferguson, and Alexander Ferguson; nine great-grandchildren.
