Barbara Ann Bunn Chekroun's Obituary
Barbara Ann Bunn Chekroun passed away on April 25, 2022, in Gainesville, FL. She was born in Mankato, Minnesota on July 24, 1935, to Helen Charlotte Schletty and Francis Robert Bunn, both also born in Minnesota.
Barbara grew up in Minnesota, and attended Stanford University and the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Bachelor of Science. She was extremely passionate about science and nature and for many years taught at Rambam Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY. Her students loved her eccentric teaching style. She retired to the Gainesville, FL area to be near her family. Barbara was an avid dog lover and adopted many rescue pups over the years.
Barbara is survived by her five children: Debra Adkins, Mark Loerzel, Peter Loerzel, Suzan Loerzel, and Penina Gray, and nine grandchildren. She leaves a full legacy, and she will be missed.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at B’nai Israel Cemetery, 1101 SE University Avenue, Gainesville, Florida with Rabbi Berl Goldman, officiating
