August Louis Schreiner's Obituary
August Louis Schreiner, Gainesville, FL passed away August 29, 2021, at the age of 100 after a long and wonderful life. August and his wife of nearly 70 years, Alda, moved to Gainesville from Wisconsin to be near their 3 daughters, Carmen Benedict, Kathleen Morris, and Colleen Campbell.
August served his country as a WWII USAAF veteran and his community as a dairy farmer, elementary school teacher and principal. During retirement he enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. August was a proud father of 3 daughters and 1 son and had 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
August will join Alda at their earthly resting place in Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi, Wisconsin. The celebration of his and Alda’s life will be held in Mondovi at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of care and compassion can be made to North Florida Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606 or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 SE Ave., Waukesha, Wisconsin, 53186.
