Arvis William "Pete"'s Obituary
Arvis William “Pete” Carroll, age 81 of Hawthorne passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1943 in Gainesville, Florida to James Monroe and Nora Charity Barber Carroll.
He was a member of Orange Heights Baptist Church and a life member of UA Local 234, Jacksonville Plumbers and Pipefitters.
Pete is survived by his wife, Iunis Williams Carroll, children, David Shawn (Victoria) Carroll, Morris James (Teresa)Carroll, Samuel Edward (Heather) Carrol, Michael William (Stacy) Carroll; sister, Judy Banner; grandchildren, Holly, Sam Jr., Melinda, Morris Jr.(Chelsea), Sheldon (Lindsey), Austin (Mariah), Taylor, Shelby, Cameron, Christopher (Lindsey), Caleb (Destinee), Brylee, Preston, Ava, Chandler, Lydia, Clayton and Cooper.
Pete was preceded in death by siblings, Ellen, Wilma, Audrey, Christine, Addie, Leroy, Mickey and Coy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 NE State Rd 26. Hawthorne with Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Meadows Cemetery East, 3700 SE Hawthorne Road, Gainesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
