Anne Perusek's Obituary
Anne Perusek, 92, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Perusek was born in McDonald, Ohio on September 14, 1932, to the late George and Anna Kuchik. Mrs. Perusek came to Gainesville along with her family in 1971; she was a longtime member of the Queen of Peace Catholic community, serving in various ministries throughout the years. She had many diverse interests, she was a golfer, a member of Gainesville Country Club, even once scoring a hole in one! She enjoyed cooking, particularly traditional Slovenian foods, she was a wonderful hostess, helping to entertain in her home, and she collected cookbooks. Anne was an avid Florida Gators sports fan, supporting the men’s and women’s sports, including being a longtime member of the Gators Tip-Off Club.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Lee “Bill” Perusek; one daughter, Kim (Glen) Morris; two sons, Bill Perusek and Timothy (MariAnn) Perusek; five grandchildren, Harrison Perusek, Christopher and Daniel Morris and Karis and Cole Perusek.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Samaritan’s Purse, https://www.samaritanspurse.org/.
