Anne Holt Gant's Obituary
Anne Holt Gant, age 83, of Newberry, Florida passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023.
She was born, Annie Lee Holt, on August 18, 1940, in Chiefland, Florida to John Amos Holt and Dorothy Louise Holt.
Anne worked as a telephone operator at Shands Hospital and, for a while, provided childcare services for her many grandchildren and family friends before she retired to be a homemaker. She was a Baptist Christian and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Cleveland Gant, her parents, her brothers, Thomas Alva Holt and John Amos Holt, Jr., her sisters, Murrel Louise King and Mary Katherine Steffens, and her grandson, Gregory Allen Craig, as well as 2 stepbrothers, Claude and Paul Copeland.
She is survived by her 3 daughters. Tina Craig, Cindy Larsen (Jan) and Robin Walker (Barry) all of Newberry and her son, Rick Gant (Angelia) of Gainesville, a brother, Dale Clark Holt (Shirley) of Green Cove Springs, a half-brother, Bobby Lee Holt of Hawthorne, 2 step siblings, Paul and Imojean Martin, 5 grandchildren, Eric Roark (Breanna), Joseph Altizer-Waters (David), Ashleigh Crawford (RJ), Steva Elkins (Kenny) and Taylor Calton (Austin), 11 great grandchildren as well as her sister in law, Minnie Holt (John).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home West Area, 823 NW 143rd Street with Pastor Steve Matchett as officiant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm (viewing). While interment will be private, she will be laid to rest in The Hague Cemetery.
