Ann Elizabeth Farmer's Obituary
Ann Elizabeth Farmer, age 65 of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her home. She was born July 25, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts to Edward L. and Elizabeth M. Devlin Broome. Ann retired from the University of Florida after 32 years of service. She loved spending time with her family, most importantly her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a long time volunteer at Ronald McDonald House. Ann was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Farmer; mother, Elizabeth Broome; children, Dawn-Marie Pientka, Gregory Farmer, Joshua Farmer, Elizabeth Farmer and Jacob Farmer; niece, Andrea Broome Staehnke; ten brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Kristeena, Lance, Maryann, Samantha, Mayleigh, Kaitlyn, Madison, Alyssa, Nathaniel, Evan and Zachary and great granddaughter, Emily.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thelma A. Boltin Center, 516 NE 2nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida, 1600 SW 14th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608.
