Angelo Louis Marano's Obituary
Mr. Angelo Louis Marano, 93, of Gainesville, Florida, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mr. Marano was born in Binghamton, New York on March 9, 1929, to the late Michael and Mary Marano. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marano was a service manager for several Chevrolet dealerships in Binghamton and owned and operated “ Angie’s Garage” for 25 years from 1966 to 1991. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants; he enjoyed attending horse races, camping and model trains.
In 2002, he met Marion Russell at a 55th high school reunion in Binghamton, and later married in 2008 at St. Augustine, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his brother Mike Marano, a sister, Pauline Harvey, a granddaughter, Alecia Miller and great granddaughter, Nicole Carrillo.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Russell Marano, daughters, Michelle (Chuck) Dorsey, Valerie Iacovelli, and Elayna (Bruce) Herman; step-daughters, Diana (Dan) Drum, Kathy (Bruce) Russell and Wendy (Glenn) Carver. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 Hague Cemetery at 2:00 P. M., with Pastor Richie Baldwin, of Westside Baptist Church, officiating.
