Alvin Craig Howland
Alvin Craig Howland, 69, resident of Wellborn, Florida, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his home, following a long illness.
Mr. Howland was born on January 17, 1944 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey to the late Edward Craig and Adele Howland. He lived for many years in south Florida, before moving to Wellborn 25 years ago. Mr. Howland worked as a corrections officer at the North Florida Reception Center. He was an active member of Gateway Baptist Church in Lake City.
He is survived by a daughter Christa Howland Brannan, a son, Will Howland, a brother, Paul Edward Howland, two sisters, Penny Burns and Maida Haar. Three grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 P. M., in the Hawthorne Cemetery, with his nephew, Kristopher Craig Howland, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gateway Baptist Church, 3252 SW SR 247, Lake City, FL 32024.
