Mr. Alva Gene White I's Obituary
Mr. Alva Gene White, I, died Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Ocala Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.
Mr. White was born in Otter Creek, Florida on October 14, 1944 to the late George Washington and Ollie White. He grew up and lived in the Micanopy area for most of his life. As a young man, he joined the U. S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. After the war, he worked his entire life as a HVAC contractor, working for many local companies, before retiring. Mr. White loved to hunt and fish, and he attended Canvas Church in Alachua.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonia McKibben, of St. Petersburg; two sons, Alva Gene “Geneo” (Crystal) White, II and Robert George White, both of Gainesville; a brother, George Ray White, of Orlando; a sister, Ruby Bush, of Gainesville. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M., in the Memorial Park East Cemetery, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
