Allen E Smith's Obituary
Allen E. Smith, 81, of Hawthorne, FL. passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital UF Shands Gainesville, Florida.
Mr. Smith is a lifelong former member of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne. He served on the Alachua County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and was a Young Farmer and Rancher in the 1970s.
He ran for Alachua County commissioner. He loved to hunt and fish and being outside in God’s beautiful nature world.
Allen is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Jean Malphurs Smith and one son Timothy A. Smith, two brothers Kess M. Smith (Frances G) Robert F. Smith (Martha Sue).
He is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow W. Smith, his mother RuthaForrester Smith, brother Charles R. Smith and Sister Linda Smith Zipf.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Hawthorne Cemetery, Hawthorne, Florida.
