Allen Lee Redd's Obituary
Mr. Allen Lee Redd, 81, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 16, 2024.
He was born in Epps, Louisiana on August 6, 1943, to the late Bessie Brooks Redd Kiser and Victor Ellis Redd. He came to Gainesville in 1972, he worked for many years at General Electric and was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years. He had attended Parker Road Baptist Church (now Faith Baptist Church) for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by a son, Buddy, a grandson, T. J. and a granddaughter, Isrea.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Clara Parker Byrd Redd; a son, Terry Redd; two daughters, Barbara (Bill) Moran and Donna Bobby. Thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 3:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, with Pastor Kevin Tiller, officiating, with the family receiving friends from 2:30 until 3:00. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery, LaCrosse, Florida, with Rev. Eugene Strickland officiating.
