Allen was a dear friend and coworker of mine for over 30 years. When he got separated from his first wife I would hang out with him and he taught me how to play backgammon. He was always fun to work with and visit. Extremely funny and honest. My wife and I will truly miss him.
Allen loved to have our family gathered together. Whenever he came to TN to visit family, we could count on spending most of those days together, in part due to his influence. Allen was quick to suggest games we could all play around the table, including the children. “May I” seemed to be one his favorites. Allen was a very intelligent man! I remember building Dog houses for our dogs and marveled at his craftsmanship. Those dog houses were probably better built than most peoples homes. I so enjoyed the company of Julie and Allen , like a second family to me. He could always make me laugh. It is true Allen was selfless often giving more of himself to help others. Honorable!
