Alice Marie Stevens' Obituary
Stevens, Alice Marie, 93
Alice passed away peacefully on November 18, 2015. She was born in Dannemora, New York to Margarite and Oscar Goddeau, residing there until she married. She and Thomas (Steve) Stevens, USAF, spent many wonderful years abroad with their two sons, Thomas (T.W.) and David, living in Norway and Germany. They returned to the states, and after five more moves, settled in Bossier City, LA. After the loss of her husband, Alice moved to Gainesville to be with her son, T.W. and family. She soon joined Queen of Peace Catholic Church and formed many great, long-lasting friendships. She enjoyed attending daily mass, gardening, swimming most every day until she was 90, and scores of card games with “the girls”. She was known for her very humorous larger-than-life stories and her beautiful smile. She loved life and cherished her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her son, T.W. and wife, Anne; sister, Janet; daughter-in-law, Ingrid; grandchildren, Lance (Rachel), Michelle (Bruce Hazen), Shannon, Chris, and Ashley and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Her parting words were always “You be good now” so we will try our best.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church, 10900 SW 24th Ave., Gainesville, with Fr. Kazimierz Ligeza officiating.
