Alice Louise (Herr) Rothrauff
Born October 9, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio, she spent her childhood years in Dayton and in Bluffton, Ohio on her family’s farm. She graduated from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio and attended a Conservative Biblical Christian school before teaching first and third grade elementary school.
In January 1954 she married Conrad Rothrauff, a college classmate, of Cleveland, Ohio. Three children were born to the couple: Linda in 1955 in Fort Campbell Kentucky, Charles in 1957 in Columbus, Ohio and Nancy in 1959 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. She was a loving mother and devoted wife, residing in Potsdam, New York for 24 years before retiring to Gainesville, Florida with her husband in 1988.
She died peacefully on September 25, 2016 in Sterling, Virginia where she recently resided with her son and daughter-in-law. She is survived by three children, Linda Ramis, Charles Rothrauff and Nancy Bartlett, two grandchildren, Cassandra Rothrauff and Catherine (Erik) Saylor, a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Rothrauff, and two sons-in-law, Luis Ramis and Patrick Bartlett. She is predeceased by her husband, parents and sister.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3rd, 2016 at the WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Reverend Carl Romey officiating. She will be buried at Countryside Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida beside her husband.
She was a devout Christian who studied the bible and read extensively about Christianity. She enjoyed listening to music, playing the piano and gardening. She loved her family very much.
