Alice Stuart Patterson's Obituary
Alice Patterson, 73 of Gainesville, FL, passed away January 4, 2017. She was born July 18, 1943 to Ernest and Mary A. Stuart of Wahalak, MS. She graduated from East Mississippi Junior College in 1963 and worked for the College of Business Administration in both Hattiesburg, MS and the University of Florida in Gainesville. She was married to V. Miles Patterson, Jr. on December 28, 1962. She and Miles lived in Gainesville most of their 54 years of married life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
She is survived by her husband Miles; one son David Kyle Patterson; granddaughter Avery Patterson and her mother Beth Patterson of Gainesville; two sisters Peggy Diehl of Gainesville, FL and Betty Ferguson of Whitehall, AR; three brothers Robert Waddell of Molalla, OR, Bobby Waddell of Phoenix, AZ and Algie Cade of Montgomery, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends who loved her dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Westside Baptist Church, 10000 West Newberry Road with Dr. David Chauncey officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608 and Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
