Alex Alty's Obituary
The family of Alex Alty is heartbroken to announce his passing.
Alex was born on October 31 1993 in Gainesville, FL to Rachel and Adam Alty and brought their family to completion as he joined big sisters Meghan and Jennifer.
Alex attended Littlewood and Williams Elementary, Lincoln Middle and Eastside High school, where he was a varsity soccer player and a member of choir amongst other things. He graduated with his IB diploma and went on to attend Georgia Tech in Atlanta and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Alex loved the outdoors, music and animals. He adopted Phoenix from the Humane society when he was 11 and was devastated when Phoenix died earlier this year. His love of board games was legendary and his family will hold a special place in their hearts of the memory of the mammoth game of Dune played on vacation in Asheville in 2021!
Alex was a gentle soul, a beautiful boy, who loved his family deeply. He touched so many people, both in USA and in England, where his parents grew up, and a place he visited often. He will be so very sadly missed by his Mum (English spelling) and Dad, his sister Meg, his sister Jen, brother in law Nick and nephew Jake along with Uncle Chris, Aunty Liz, Uncle Rod, Aunty Caroline and cousins Charlotte and Harry in England. Special mention must be made to his ‘fairy’ godparents Pam Brown and Rick Du Boisson who have been part of Alex’ journey here in Florida from the start.
In honor of Alex, donations may be made to Alachua County Humane Society.
