Albert Blake Young's Obituary
Albert Blake Young, age 78 of Newberry passed away Friday October 21, 2022. He was born September 8, 1944 in Hatfield, Kentucky to Lucian and Roberta Burris Young.
He proudly served in the US Navy and Navy reserves. Albert retired from Malcolm Randall VA Hospital; he worked as an HVAC Tech. and adjunct at Santa Fe Community College. He loved fishing, the Gators and helping people. He loved working in prison ministries. He will be greatly missed.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia “Pat” Young; daughter, Kimberly Young Maxwell (Casey); grandchildren, Brandon Lee Maxwell and Brittany Leigh Maxwell and many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by stepmother, Gracie Young; son, Alan Brett Young, his first wife, Linda Varney Young; sisters, Dixie Elizabeth Williamson, Anna Jane Reed and brother, James Young.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Williams-Thomas Downtown Chapel, 404 North Main St. with pastor Gil Roser officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park East on Hawthorne Rd. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
