I never met him. But, speaking for myself, his works, books, and education videos were a great deal of contribution to my neurosurgical education.

A man of tremendous professional accomplishments, yet ever so humble. He always made time to say hello, to exchange a smile, or the express his gratitude. When I first met Dr. Rhoton more than 3 decades ago, it was through my work with a medical device company. In addition to being published, he extended his ability to teach through the implementation of surgical skills courses. I will never forget how genuinely grateful he was to all of us who assisted with those courses nor will I forget his kind and gentle mannerisms.
