Alana Boatwright Hurt's Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Alana Boatwright Hurt, who left us peacefully on July 11, 2025, at the age of 65. The Florida native grew up in Wayne County, Georgia before spending the last 20 years of her life in Gainesville, Florida. She was a trained dental hygienist who retired to care for her family and, later in life, enjoyed her passion for travel.
Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Edward Hurt; her mother, Emma Jean Boatwright; her four sons, Brian, Wesley, David, and Austin; and her three grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Sophie. She is preceded in death by her father, John, and her brother, Tommy.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel, 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, Florida. Interment will follow at the Hanson United Methodist Church in Madison, Florida.
