Agnes Matilda (Siegert) Martinsen, age 92, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. She was born January 11, 1928, in Alpena, Michigan.
Agnes married Arthur Martinsen on May 31,1947, in Detroit, Michigan.
Preceded in death by: Arthur W. Martinsen (husband); Albert (Evelyn) Siegert, brother; Herta (Charles) Wardwell, sister; Augusta (Maurice) Davy, sister; Elsie (Warren) Martin, sister; Alfred (Doris) Siegert, brother; Judith Martinsen, daughter; Holly Telling (granddaughter).
Survived by two daughters: Jan Martinsen of Jackson, Michigan; Amy Martinsen (Ted Reiman) of Gainesville, Florida; Granddaughter Lisa Telling of Traverse City, Michigan; Grandson Thomas Jaworski, Boulder, Colorado; Granddaughter Emily Jaworski, Pompano Beach, Florida; Great granddaughters Audrey Roberts and Claire Roberts of Pompano Beach, Florida.
Agnes worked as a switchboard operator for Michigan Bell and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for many years in Michigan. She moved to Gainesville, Florida, around 1985. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, gardening, volunteering and her family (especially grandchildren). She was a long-time member of University Lutheran Church, where she was
very involved in many ministries. Agnes volunteered for many years at North Florida Regional Medical Center and received the "Volunteer Center Work of Heart Award" in 2004 and "Volunteer of the Year for Outstanding Volunteer Service" in 2005.
