Adrienne Vanessa Jones' Obituary
Adrienne Vanessa Jones, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida. She was 37 years old.
Born on June 9, 1988, Adrienne was a lifelong Gainesvillian, shaped by the loving dedication of her parents and her many public-school teachers. From a young age she loved playing team sports, with a particular passion for basketball. At Gainesville High School, she excelled as a student-athlete, earning a district championship as a member of the varsity volleyball team her senior year, and delivering the commencement address to her graduating class. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
Adrienne's professional life was defined by service and a gift for making connections. She began her career as a Brand Manager at WRUF, where her warmth and outgoing spirit made her a natural fit for coordinating work across multiple teams. Her most recent role as an Emergency Services Telecommunicator for the Alachua County Sheriff's Office was critical in keeping officers and citizens safe. It was work that demanded calm, quick thinking, and highlighted her deep-rooted commitment and care for her community.
To know Adrienne was to know warmth, laughter, and an energy that lit up every room she entered. Known as “AJ” to many of her friends and family, she was a devoted Florida Gators fan, a loving owner of her dog MJ, and someone whose enthusiasm for life was genuinely impossible to ignore.
Adrienne was preceded in death by her adoring mother, Beverly Jones. She is survived by her father, Will Jones; her brother, Derek Jones; her sister-in-law, Anastasia Ford Jones; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all cherished her.
A visitation to celebrate Adrienne's life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, 823 NW 143rd St, Newberry, FL 32669. While there will not be a formal ceremony, friends and family are warmly invited to arrive at any time during those hours to share memories and pay their respects.
