Mark Francis Arena
Dear Mrs. Frohnapple, Frank, David, Dean, Holly, and Diane:
I retain many fine memories of times spent at your family home on Bunting Road. I first met your parents in 1971, shortly after meeting Frank. I remember enjoying many a dinner there, and especially the German cuisine cooked up by your mother. I remember the grandfather clock chiming in the hallway, and all the "stuff" your father managed to pack into the basement, including his collection of special glues. I remember referring to him as the "glue man" on more than one occasion. I remember the gardens, and all the work they entailed. I remember your father lending Frank and I his truck camper for a trip to Kinzua. His little signs in the truck reminding him to "run the AC" and "check oil" stick with me to this day.
I appreciated your dad's advice when I met with him at his work downtown. He reviewed my resume and made several key suggestions for improvement. I believe those changes helped me land my next job at ECC.
Frank and I talked frequently about how lucky we were to have such good, loving parents.
I grieve with a smile on my face. I know I am a better person for having become a small part of your family.
With much love,
Mark F. Arena, Angola, NY
