It is with immense sadness that the family of Philip Cavnar Beverly, Jr. announce his passing on September 11, 2025, at the age of 69 after a brave battle with cancer. Phil was born on October 5, 1955, in Wilmington, North Carolin Read Obituary
Judy, Mark and I were saddened to learn of Phil’s death in the Notre Dame Magazine. We have fond memories of your visits to South Bend, especially when it snowed and we were able to take the boys sledding. We are keeping all of you in our prayers.

I just saw that Phil had passed in The Florida Bar News. Phil and I were classmates in law school at UF and clerked together at the old Clayton, Johnston firm during our last year of law school. We were great friends back then and I remember him being a real dyed in the wool Deadhead. I think he had seem them perform countless times. We lost touch after graduation as I moved to south Florida. My sincere condolences to his family. Although i had not seen him in many years, I remember him, and the times we spent together, quite fondly.
Judy, I was just thinking of you and Phil and was shocked and saddened to see that he had just passed away. My condolences. I am so glad y'all got to spend such a long and beautiful life together. I look back fondly on those law school days with you guys.

Though it's been years since we West Virginia cousins visited Uncle Phil, Aunt Virginia and cousins Phil, Jr., Laura and Tommy in Wilmington and later at Deerwood, which was a bit out in the sticks then I still remember our playing together fondly. Who would have thought that Phil would grow into a successful attorney, Laura into a doctor with a heart of gold and Tommy into Judge Beverly. You left us too soon Phil.
