Margie George, my best friend through all four years at Carrollton High School. My family moved to town at the beginning of my freshman year literally across the street from Margie's. She welcomed me and we spent many a sleep over at each others homes, walked to school together every day, suffered Latin classes together and met at Islay's after school for cherry cokes. She was loved and admired by her classmates for her talents and generosity of spirit; she always had time for everyone. She sang beautifully, was a class officer, and her twirling of the baton was spectacular. In our senior year we held hands as we were driven around the football field at Homecoming sitting on the back of a convertible. Not surprising that this wonderful teenager continued her life giving of herself and bringing joy to all who were lucky enough to meet her.
Margie, thank you for being and may you rest in peace.
