Alicia, Lisa, and Fred please accept our heartfelt condolences on Lou’s passing. Lou was such a kind, gentle, and giving man. He was an Angel of Mercy with Alicia and they were both truly Angels helping many people. Lou will he greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Lou was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He and Alicia helped me so much when I was learning to be a liturgical minister. They were always there for me and I could ask them anything. Lou always had a smile. He always took time to greet me and I loved seeing him with his dogs. Lou was genuinely interested in everyone and in their lives and you always knew that he was there for you. He and Alicia are such a beautiful couple. They radiate peace and goodness. Lou will be greatly missed by all of us.
I was introduced to Lou and Alicia through their lovely daughter Lisa. I was honored when Lou trusted me enough to take care of his fur babies, Possum and Raven, while he and Alicia were out of town on several occasions and I will remember his smile when he found out that I was preparing their food exactly as he did.
The description of Lou in his obituary was not just the opinion of his loving family, these were the facts. Lou was kind and generous and curious and loving. His time on Earth was not merely that of a man just getting by. He gave of his time, his heart, his knowledge and his beautiful spirit to everyone that came in contact with him. He will be greatly, greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to his beautiful family.
Rest in peace Lou
I’m so sorry for your loss Alicia. I remember Lou so fondly from my time as a student in Gainesville. Lou was always kind, thoughtful and encouraging. My favorite memories are of him and Fred sharing differences of opinion on how to approach a problem or a project. Always respectful, full of some good natured needling, and a glimmer of mischief. It was hilarious and a pleasure to be around.
Lou was especially kind to Frank and I. He was always loving and we had such wonderful conversations with him. He ha raised a beautiful family who we know loved him very much.

My wife and I had the pleasure of getting to know Lou and his family through painting his houses for him. He hired us about 6 years ago and we’ve been painting for him ever since. A couple months back he was having some really good memory days and Lisa asked if he could help us paint at one of their houses we were currently working on. I said “come on!” Here is a video of his last time painting, which was with us. I really took to Lou as he reminded me so much of my Papa, who was my knight and shining armor. Lou’s kind heartedness and gentle eyes made him easy to like. We bonded instantly. Lou was one of the most caring individuals I’ve ever met and while I’m thankful that we got to know him, I’m sad it wasn’t for a longer periods of time. I find peace knowing he is at peace and in the home of the Lord. Lou is one of the last of a drying breed of humans. But I think he touched enough lives that maybe we can continue is legacy of generosity and love and spread his good deeds back into the world that desperately needs it! Lou, thanks for being you man! Love and respect always! Sincerely, Rand and Kaley, aka Your Painters! 😊🕊️️💜
Alicia, I have the sweetest memories of Lou helping the Green House, serving poor and homeless folks. What a gentle and kind soul, just the kind of person we need more of in this world. Rest in peace, Lou. You are loved and missed.
