January 6, 1956 - March 3, 2020
Roberta Ann “Bobbie Ann” Moffatt Condon Roberta, age 64 of Lake Butler, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1956 in Bangor, Maine the first child of Robert and Shirley (Pelkey) Moffatt. Roberta “Bobbie Ann” graduated from Schenck High School in 1974 where she nurtured her love of music through band and chorus. Next to her family, her greatest love was for those children and adults who had developmental delays. After school and on weekends Bobbie Ann could often be found volunteering at the local Katahdin Friends School (for the disabled). She was gifted with the heart, skills and insight to reach these children and adults. This love inspired her to attend the University of Maine at Farmington where she earned her degree in Special Education. From that moment, Bobbie Ann diligently worked to make the lives of so many a much better place; teaching in the Bangor Area as well in the surrounding area, her hometown of East Millinocket and group homes in the Bangor/Brewer locations. She also had the privilege of taking part in Special Olympics with multiple students. As an advocate for the State of Maine, she assisted countless individuals to safely remain in their own home and adapt to living independently despite their disabilities. She also had a positive impact on many young lives as a Rehab Counselor for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Later in her years, after experiencing it for herself, Bobbie Ann took an interest in sleep studies and became a Certified Sleep Technician Specialist. Bobbie Ann enjoyed family times whether a large celebration or simply playing cards or watching one of her favorite detective or animal shows. She was also extremely talented with flowers and making flower arrangements to professional standards. Her favorite thing to do was making others happy and her reward was their smile. She was also a member of St. Madeline’s Catholic Church of High Springs, Florida. She is survived by her husband Brian, her stepdaughter Misty Espinosa, four step grand daughters and one great grandson. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Moffatt, her sisters, Dorothy Orr and husband Paul, Kathleen Sullivan and husband Brian and Mary Thompson, her brother William Moffatt and wife Lori along with two close Aunts, Jean Daigle and Barbara Potvin. Bobbie was also extremely close to her cousin Jaime Boucher Thompson and her children Jordan and Shelby as well as several long-time special friends, however Bobbie Ann's pride and joy were her nieces and nephews who she loved and spoiled as if her very own, Maghan Harmon, Danielle Thompson, Ashley Sprague, Anthony Moffatt, Shannon Sullivan and Brandon Sullivan. She is predeceased by her father Robert W. Moffatt, Brother-in-law Joel Thompson. She has also been predeceased by her “fur babies”, Sing Leigh, Ming Toi, Jake and Belle. Regardless of human or animal, Bobbie Ann cared deeply and consistently showed compassion to everyone throughout her life. She loved her pets as if they were her own children and she welcomed all into her life as if they were family. She was a kind, generous person who truly had a heart of gold; the very BEST sister, daughter, godmother and friend that God could have ever created! A mass of Christian Burial will take place in her hometown and will be announced once the risk of the Coronavirus has passed. Until then, family asks that you visit www.williamsthomasfuneralhome.com and share your precious memories and even pictures as they are all so very comforting. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Maine Special Olympics, 125 John Roberts Road, South Portland, Maine 04016.
