Patricia "Patty" Harrelson

November 9, 1933 - September 30, 2021

Patricia "Patty" Harrelson, 87 of Gainesville passed away September 30, 2021. Patty was born at home in High Springs, FL on November 9, 1933 to the late Blanton “Bee” Martin and Mildred Gillespie Martin. She was raised on her family homestead with her brother and sister. She married the love of her life, Wayne in 1954 and enjoyed 31 years together before he went to be with the Lord. They raised two daughters, Micki and Libby and made their home in Gainesville. They ran a successful business, Central Florida Power Wash, together for 35 years. The last ten years Patty ran the business alone after Wayne passed. Patty was involved in the Gainesville Christian Women’s club and attended their luncheons regularly. She went to a Thursday morning bible study with a group of women for the past 35 years. She attended Glen Springs Road Church of Christ for the past 16 years with her family. Patty was a faithful servant of God. She loved Jesus and her family fiercely. Her family was her world, and she was involved in all aspects of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives. She was affectionately called “Mamaw” by all her grandkids and their friends. She never missed a game her grandchildren were playing in and could regularly be found at the soccer fields, pools, volleyball gyms and track meets. Patty passed from this world quickly after a diagnosis of cancer. She spent her last days surrounded by her family. Patty is survived by her daughters Micki Devereaux (Richard), Libby Humphrey (Jim). Grandchildren, Linsey Powell (Geoff), Adrianne Hudson (Josh), Jordan Strack, Landon Strack (Allisun), Brody Devereaux, Annalisa Devereaux, greatgrandchildren, Mason Powell, Maddox Powell, Finley Powell, Grey Hudson and Leila Hudson. She had many nieces, nephews and friends she loved dearly. She was proceeded in death by her husband Wayne Harrelson, brother Byron Martin and sister Betty Gregory. There will be a graveside service for Patty at 11:00AM Friday, October 8th at the Forest Grove Cemetery in Alachua. The family invites anyone who would like to attend to a lunch following the service at Jordan and Vivek’s home located at 1209 NW 98th St., Gainesville, FL 32606. Arrangments have been placed under the care of Williams-Thomas Funeral home.
