Mack Shane Kelly

October 2, 2021

Mack Shane Kelly passed away on October 2, 2021, from an aggressive Cancer recently diagnosed. Mack was born in 1967 and a lifelong resident of Gainesville. He attended Buchholz High School and enjoyed all outdoor activities. Mack’s passions were playing his numerous musical Instruments in his dedicated band room. He enjoyed Gardening, Cooking, Gator Football, and being with family and friends. He loved spending time on his gentleman’s ranch where he grew fruit trees, took care of his horses, and enjoyed his many pets. Mack was a fan of Classic Rock and enjoyed tailgating. Mack is survived by his daughter, Amy Kelly who shared his love of horses, his father, Johnny Mack Kelly, sisters Carolyn Kelly Snowden, Karen Kelly Willox, Stepfather Michael Toler, stepsister Bridget Toler, and stepbrother Mickey Toler. Mack was a member of the Gainesville Elks Lodge and the Florida Gator Touchdown Club. Mack worked with his father Johnny in various businesses for over 20 years, including Sonny’s Barbeque in Valdosta GA, Shell Service stations, and multiple car washes. The last 9 years Mack worked at Shand’s Hospital in the Environmental Services Department in the surgical ward. For all of those that knew and loved Mack, he lived his life fully, enjoying his life on his own terms. Mack’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Gainesville Elks 990 Lodge, 2424 NW 23rd Blvd Gainesville FL 32605 on Sunday, October 10th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers and donations, please do a random act of kindness in Mack’s honor and maybe raise a small toast to a life lived with his favorite rum and diet coke!
