Hazel Fralix Crews a long time resident of Gainesville, FL went to be with the Lord on Friday March 4, 2022 after an extended illness. She was born February 13, 1936 to Newton and Thelma Fralix, and grew up in Gulf Hammock, Florida. After graduating Bronson high school she attended Jones Business College in Jacksonville, FL. Hazel met her husband Lester “Les” Crews in Gainesville in 1956 and they were happily married for 58 years before his passing in 2014. Hazel was a homemaker for 23 years before starting her own business in 1979 providing medical billing services for anesthesiologists in the Gainesville area. She operated her business for 35 years before finally retiring in 2014. Hazel was a sweet, loving and generous wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alachua for many years. Hazel is survived by two sons and their wives, Don and Linda Crews of Milton, Georgia and Mike and Debbie Crews of High Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, Leslie, Colby and Michael; and one great grandson Brooks. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. Burial will follow in Chiefland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday March 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
