Her Legacy…Donna T. Gindy, 71, passed from this life to her home in Heaven on Saturday, March 6, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on August 31, 1949, in Miami, FL to the late Ray Manuel Teijeiro and McClellan Stauffer. Donna was the oldest of 5 children and was raised in Miami, FL. She attended Miami Coral Park High School and graduated in 1967. While raising her own children, Donna worked as an elementary school aide at Archer Elementary for several years where she impacted the lives students, parents, teachers, and families. Donna later worked at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and then as a Certified Meeting Professional for a veterinary conference where her innovations affected the lives of veterinarians, technicians, receptionists and practices managers of the veterinary community from all over the world before retiring in 2010. Donna married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Bert Jay Gindy, on September 12, 1969. She will be remembered as the matriarch of the family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and beloved grandmother. Donna was a generous, cheerful, and outgoing person. She was always giving of herself and her time. She was known for her beautiful soul, great sense of humor, infectious smile that drew people to her instantly, and her incredibly smart mind. She loved family gatherings at her house to celebrate the holidays. Donna pursued many artistic interests and was very talented teaching herself sewing, crocheting, ceramics and jewelry making. Many of the beautiful items she created were gifted to her friends and family. She loved word puzzles, reading, and traveling the world especially going on cruises and playing her slot machines. She was most proud of her grandchildren both of which were the light of her life. She enjoyed going to all of their sporting events and being very involved in their everyday lives. Her infectious, loving, and encouraging spirit will be missed but felt for eternity. She is survived by her husband, Bert Gindy; daughter, Karrelyn (Basil) Weatherington; sisters, Carolyn (Randy) Wasdin, Janice (Richard) Clements; brother, Ray (Susan) Teijeiro; brother-in-law, Mark (Gloria) Gindy; grandchildren, Connor and Peyton.
