Charles “Charlie” Stahl
April 23, 1983 - March 6, 2022
Charles “Charlie” Jonathan Stahl, born April 23, 1983, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022. He left behind countless friends and family who are challenged to honor the man he was and the joy he brought to all. Charlie was from Inverness, Florida, and has been a resident of Gainesville, Florida, for the majority of his life. His passion for helping those in need was evident by his dedication to the healthcare profession. He worked for almost two decades at Shands/UF Health, first on the patient care side then as an Assistant Manager in Admissions. He never knew a stranger, and worked tirelessly helping those in need. He leaves behind his lifelong partner, Bif Sheffield, parents, Gail and Chuck Stahl, and a loving brother and family, Chris, Alex and Sierra. Throughout his life he was privileged to have an extensive family made of friends that saw the extraordinary person he was and brought him into their families. It should not go without recognition of his adopted family: big brother, Dan, second mom, Sherry, son, Zachary, and best friend, Jackie. Those that had the honor to be a part of his life know our lives were forever changed by him, and will never be the same without him. His smile was infectious, his laugher heartwarming, and his passion intense. He enjoyed being with friends, learning to cook, traveling, and the beach most of all. A memorial service will be held in Charlie’s honor at 1:00 pm this Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Church (1521 NW 34th St, Gainesville, FL 32605). Per church policies, mask are required. For those that are able, donations are encouraged to our local chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in honor of his Charlie Stahl. Donations will be focus on providing mental health education, training, and services for local college students. (NAMI Gainesville | PO Box 358703, Gainesville, FL 32635).
