Catherine Ware

October 11, 1925 - September 7, 2021

Catherine H. Ware, 95, of Branford Florida, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021. She was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on October 11, 1925. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Wayne L. Ware and moved to Miami, Florida. They lived in Miami for many wonderful years then moved to Branford, Florida to enjoy their retirement. Catherine was known for her southern grace, kindness, loving heart and always caring for others. She was an active member of Coral Way United Methodist Church (Miami, FL), McCalls Chapel United Methodist Church (Hatchbend, FL), Branford Women’s Club, Florida Association for Family and Community Education, Order of the Eastern Star in South Miami Chapter 250 and Branford Chapter 112. She was Worthy Matron twice and in 2009 awarded her 50 Year Service Pin. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her family and dear friends. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include two children, Randy Ware (Priscilla) of Branford, FL, Karen Ware Kieszek (David) of Alachua, FL, sister-in-law Patricia Ware of Miami, FL, first cousin Hazel Hardin of Shelby, NC; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Kee Harmon and Sally Anthony Harmon, her husband of 60 years, Wayne L. Ware, two brothers, Dee Harmon and Earl Harmon. A future graveside service will be held at El Bethel Methodist Church, Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She will rest there among generations of family and friends. The family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and Haven Hospice for all their amazing care, compassion and support. Arrangements are in care of Williams-Thomas Funeral Homes, Gainesville, Florida and Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
