Brenda Ann Williams

November 13, 1956 - December 6, 2020

The world lost a beloved wife, mother, grams, sister, and daughter on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Brenda Ann Williams, born November 13, 1956, loved her family. She wanted to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren as much as possible and enjoyed spoiling them with home-cooked meals at every turn. She saw her kids and “ grands” weekly most of the time and every get-together was an event consisting of too much food, lots of games as well as swimming and croquet, weather permitting. Brenda and her husband, Bob Williams, met at Buchholz High School. They began dating when Brenda was a sophomore and Bob was a junior then married shortly after graduating at the young ages of 19 and 20. They celebrated 44 years of marriage in July of 2020. Not only was Brenda a loving wife, mom, and grams, but she was also a nurse who served at both Alachua General Hospital and later at Shands, retiring from her 20-year nursing career in April of 2020. She has touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Brenda is survived by her husband, Bob Williams; daughter Devin Boyd, son-in-law Drew Boyd and their children Éva, Allie, Hayden, Micah, Canaan, and Leah; her son, Blake Williams, daughter-in-law Sian and grandson, Lawson; as well as her daughter Heather McDavid and her children Theson and Taylor. She is also survived by her parents- Alton G. McCullers and Dorothy Mock as well as her sisters Linda Woodman of Newport News, VA, and Melissa Moan of Clermont, FL. Services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143 Street, Newberry, FL 32669. Interment at 11:30 a.m. in Newnansville Cemetery 12308 West State Road 235 Alachua, Florida 32615.
